Narita
Hi!
Am at the Narita airport- wish I could download photos, but will have to wait until I get home.... that would be tomorrow! Had a great last couple days on Bali- in Ubud and the travel/flight part has gone well so far. Today I got in early here and with the thought of a 13 hour layover,I went crazy and escaped the airport! I met a guy from LA on the flight from Bali and we chatted and he told me this amazing temple that was close to the airport here, so I followed his advice- left the airport, caught the Nikko Hotel shuttle bus, got off there, had breakfast at the hotel, then caught the free shuttle into the train station, where I cruised thru the sweet town to the Naritasan Temple and park. IT was SUCH a GREAT way to spend the whole day. I met an Indian man living in Vancouver,BC who was out looking for something to see, so we checked out the temple together until his flight, then I just stayed up there, napped on the cool marble floors, walked in the woods, took photos, listened to the creek and birds and had some temple-time too. I walked around on some paths and in neighborhoods and did not get too lost! I then did the reverse, got back to the airport, bought a hot shower and feel good. What an adventure! I was gone 8 hours! I have a few yen left, so will get some sake and hang out in the massage chairs for the next 2 hours. Have some journal writing to do, thanks to my assignment form Shawna!
