Hi all-
Wish this was a happier blog, but am feeling so many emotions right now. Mom slipped on water in Safeway, fell and broke part of her femur at the knee. Also loosened her prosthesis in that knee. So, she is at Maui Memorial Hospital room 411 (sorry, forgot to bring the phone # with me) waiting for some dicisions to be made by the doctors there. They will cast and immobilize her for about 5 weeks, or do surgery, on Oahu or the mainland somewhere. It is driving me crazy not to be there, BUT, i start my new job with many things to do on Monday and am looking for an apartment in Bangkok, buying a computer and many things just to keep my life going here. I will be going to take care of her for awhile, but need to get settled here first and get the work/project things all in line first.
Interesting timing for all this as it is in the middle of Songkran here with festivities EVERYWHERE. Just walking to the internet place, i got SOAKED with water about 5 times. A taxi, your home an a few shops are the only safe places.

AND, have you heard of Skype? It's amazing. It is a free download onto your computer. You don't need much, just some basic size requirements for your computer, a headset (with microphone if computer doesn't have one built in) , make a user name, dial me and we talk for FREE.
